Well, here’s the truth:  although I LOVE both my career and my home projects (which includes cooking, in my opinion)… the fact is that the MOST IMPORTANT THING in my life is my family & friends, both old and new, and even those who have dropped off along the way.  They have shaped me, made me who I am, and I would be utterly lost without them.

I’m so incredibly fortunate and grateful to have these relationships.  I love being a husband, father, brother, son, nephew, cousin, friend, business partner… I embrace any and all of these roles with immense gratitude.

I grew up in the Midwest in the 1970’s, and loved Star Wars, Spider-man, Disney, and Jeeps as a kid.  In Middle school I gravitated toward basketball and tennis… and in high school I focused on tennis alone.  After graduating college in 1993, I was a teaching tennis professional (with a Professional 1 rating, which I still maintain) for 10 years… before going into the mortgage industry full-time in 2003.

I moved from Washington DC to Boulder in late 2014, and then moved from Boulder to Westminster (halfway between Denver and Boulder) in late 2016.  During that time, I met my wife, Jamie, and in June of 2017 we had our amazing daughter, Lily Lake Van Zandt.

These last ten years in Colorado have truly been the BEST time of my entire life—and since what happened before was amazing, that’s saying something! I can’t wait to see what the future brings… :)

AND HERE ARE SOME VIDEOS!

Dancing with my daughter Lily, when she was only three… She just melts my heart!

I still make time for tennis… two handed on both sides, I’m definitely not typical! lol
