Living Room Symmetry Project

The start: deconstruct the existing mantle in order to make space for the main speakers.

Cut, sand, and mount the cover piece for the main speakers.

Stain, add speaker cloth, and trim out the cover pieces.

And now, how to address the lack of balance? Too much visual weight on the right side of the room, due to that floor-to-ceiling brick column… something needs to be done . Plus the Audio/Video wiring needs to be run and then hidden.

Ah... balance is on the way! My OCD needs this lol

Getting there...

Running ALL of the A/V wiring—HDMI, speaker wire, etc.

Connector plates and access panels for the A/V wiring.

Crown moulding to hide the A/V wiring.

And boom! Balance. I still need to add furniture and such--now on to building the decorative shelving.

There's the newly built shelving, along with the refurbished antique radio cabinet (which is back to its roots, housing all of the Audio/Video gear). :)

And done! (although I've since replaced that carpet with hardwood flooring).
